On Tuesday night high-flying Combined Counties side Hanworth Villa came to Chestnut Avenue in the Middlesex Premier Cup, a competition that we have not entered for the past couple of years while playing in a midweek reserve competition.

By the end of the game, Mark Barnham may have wished we hadn't entered this time either as Villa romped to a 5-0 success.

The Woods had their chances in the first half, with Otis Williams having a run-out but he was guilty of a couple of missed opportunities early on and the price was paid when Villa took the lead.

It was 2-0 at half-time and the heads dropped on the Northwood side. By the end the visitors were good for the victory though their keeper was forced into a couple of good stops as the Woods rallied towards the end.
